This year's autumn meeting of the DHV, the German Association for the Protection of Wood for Outdoor Use, of which our company is also a member, took place on October 9 in the Fulda region and attracted 25 participants.
Representatives of Germany's largest sawmill association, DeSH, also attended the event. For about a year now, this association has been working closely with the DHV to develop common interests and priorities for all stakeholders so that specific goals and issues resonate with both politicians and the general public.
To invigorate the entire program, this year's meeting of experts was livened up by a practical field trip to the modern Pfeiffer company in Lauterbach, which specializes in woodworking. The field trip continued with a visit to the Hosenfeld sawmill, which ranks among medium-sized family businesses. Both companies provided the field trip participants with an inspiring practical insight.
The evening was devoted to lively discussion on current topics such as the implementation of the EU deforestation regulation, the market situation, and prospects for more intensive cooperation between these associations. This autumn meeting once again emphasized the importance of personal contact and exchange of views, thanks to which joint activities between DHV and DeSH can be strengthened and effectively developed.
