The Holzmesse 2026 International Wood Trade Fair, held from September 2 to 5 in Klagenfurt, Austria, attracted approximately 500 exhibitors from 20 countries. Across 50,000 square meters of exhibition space, they showcased innovations and trends across the entire value chain of the wood industry. The fair attracted more than 21,000 visitors.
Holzmesse covers a wide range of fields—from forestry equipment and logging to sawmill and drying technologies, as well as timber construction, transportation and logistics, bioenergy, and environmental technologies. The trade fair also featured a diverse program of professional events, including presentations and International Timber Day 2026 (Holztag 2026).
The International Timber Day took place on September 4, 2026, as part of the Holzmesse trade fair. The event welcomed approximately 450 guests from the Austrian sawmill industry and the timber trade.
The main topics included the current economic situation, developments and prospects in international timber markets, as well as the traditionally close economic ties between Austria and Italy. The meeting provided industry experts with an opportunity to share the latest information, experiences, and perspectives on the future development of the timber industry.
