Returning Timber to its Original Beauty

Returning Timber to its Original Beauty

Wood is a natural material and is therefore susceptible to degradation. Weather conditions (rainfall and direct sunlight) can cause wood to become grey and faded. It is only natural for terraces, pergolas, benches and swings - which you would like to always be looking brand new -  to lose some of their elegance and beauty. But all is not lost. Here, we will advise you on how to get that gloss back.

  • Start by removing debris from the timber surface. Do not remove mould from mould-infested timber, as to do so would only spread the problem by dispersing hazardous spores through the air.

Use BOCHEMIT Mildew Remover. Before applying the product for the first time, test it on a small, concealed part of the timber. Then spray on from a distance of 10–15 cm and let it do its work. After 15-20 minutes, rinse the treated area with water. There is no need to use a garden hose or pressure cleaner. Alternatively, you can leave the product to dry. Repeat several times for wood that is highly greyed or mould-infested.

Now you can get back to enjoying some peace and quiet. Of course, you needn’t stop there… If you have not previously treated timber against pests, read how to extend wood’s longevity.
